The PSB Passif 50 is a 50th-anniversary loudspeaker that combines one of PSB’s most recognizable vintage designs with thoroughly modern driver technology and acoustic engineering. Introduced in 2022 to celebrate PSB’s founding in 1972, the Passif 50 is inspired particularly by the original Passif II of 1974, but it is not a simple reissue. PSB essentially rebuilt the concept using five decades of accumulated knowledge in loudspeaker design, measurement, cabinet construction, and psychoacoustics.

Visually, the Passif 50 deliberately embraces the look of a classic 1970s monitor. Its substantial cabinet is finished in open-grain walnut veneer and complemented by a cream-colored woven-cloth grille attached magnetically to the front. Their measurements also showed a generally well-balanced response through the important 50Hz–20kHz range, although the reviewer noted some additional energy in the upper treble.
